The  Interior

Chateau Ridge is a 16,301-square-foot home with seven bedrooms, eight baths, multiple sitting and dining choices and providing luxurious, beautifully proportioned rooms curated with modern furnishings and a light mix of antiques. Original limestone fireplaces from a French 16th century monastery are found in the spectacular star-lit living room, kitchen and garden dining room, installed by the original builders of Chateau Ridge, the Ream family in 1927. The lounge, small dining room and several of the bedrooms have carved marble fireplaces. The house also has an impressive grand hall with three ceilings from a 16th century Dutch church. Keep your family and guests comfortable for a casual dinner in the garden room next to a large fire, walk outside to the fire pit for a drink before dinner and then get seated in the large dining room with a double-height ceiling complete with French 19th century beams. Or, enjoy a meal in the wonderful brand new French country kitchen. Eat an al fresco lunch for 4 in the garden, or by the pool. You can find areas around the house to vary your experiences. There are beautifully crafted walnut doors throughout the house as well as pear and tiger wood paneling, both white oak and Brazilian teak floors. When in the mood for an intimate more formal dinner, you can enjoy it in the grey paneled room. Amp up the excitement by taking a few steps down to a lounge that has light blue wood paneling from the 18th century, carved by the famed Grinling Gibbons who worked in many chateaux throughout Europe. Large marble columns complete the spectacular backdrop.

In 2021, the interior of Chateau Ridge has been completely renovated, creating a wonderful symbiosis of historical and modern elements of interior design. As part of this recent renovation, new baths and steam sauna have been completely redesigned as well as an addition of a stunning large French country live-in kitchen with top-of-the-line appliances. Exceptional Sherle Wagner hardware has been used throughout the house, from faucets and hinges to door handles. The new large mud room is now a comfortable space for the whole family to house anything from coats to sports equipment. This area now includes a bar and a coffee station as well as a welcoming space to refresh your flowers at a large pottery sink. Every detail has been thought through so that you can have the most comfortable lifestyle, day and night.
